Social Night
GRIDS Social Night, held on April 10th, 2024, provided an engaging platform for students to connect and explore the latest trends in data science. Hosted at THH 201, the event welcomed students from diverse backgrounds, fostering a vibrant atmosphere of learning and collaboration.
Attendees indulged in an array of activities, including networking sessions, interactive discussions, and insightful presentations. Industry collaborators and USC professors shared their expertise, offering valuable insights into advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data visualization.
The event featured our dear advisor and esteemed faculty Prof. Saty, who presented a beautiful talk on his views on data science. He illustrated how data science has evolved, and presented a unique perspective on data itself, and what it means to truly compute. Here is a link to his slides for the talk.
The event also featured food, drinks, and games, enhancing the social experience and facilitating meaningful interactions among attendees. Students seized the opportunity to exchange ideas, forge new connections, and expand their professional networks within the data science community.
